Sivgech Chheng

Ms. Sivgech Chheng (a.k.a Sue) possesses about 10 years of experience as in-house legal counsel in a financial service company including insurance and banking. She enables companies to drive their business toward their goals yet ensure that their potential legal risks are mitigated. Sue is described as a business partner than just a legal adviser. She has been recently engaged in providing services to a newly created commercial bank in Cambodia. Her main responsibilities are to ensure corporate compliance of the bank, good governance structure and smooth strategic communication between the shareholders to the Boards to the senior management of the bank. She also advises on major commercial contracts between the bank and its investors. Before joining Legal Trust Law Firm, Ms. Sivgech Chheng worked in one of a business law firm in Cambodia where she focused on insurance licensing process, insurance product approval, insurance contract reviewing and giving legal advice on corporate governance of insurance companies in Cambodia. Her main skills are in Insurance and Banking laws, contract drafting and reviewing, corporate secretarial and governance, compliance, and corporate affairs. Ms. Sivgech Chheng obtained her bachelor’s degree of Law from the Royal University of Law and Economics in Phnom Penh, Cambodia. She also had one year exchange at Bowdoin College in Maine, USA. She was admitted into the Bar Association of the Kingdom of Cambodia in 2019. She speaks Khmer (mother tongue), fluent English, and beginner German.
